About the 24 Hour Race
- In 2010, the 24 Hour Race was founded by a high school student called Christopher Schrader.
- Our movement is almost entirely student-led, with events organized by committees of high school volunteers and supported in the background by our headquarters, located in Hong Kong.
- We have been a Hong Kong registered Charity since 2014.
- The 24 Hour Race has incubated 90 talented high school students who have been "Directors" responsible for managing and executing our races. These students have gone on to found their own social impact ventures, making the world a better place.
- The 24 Hour Race has directly engaged over 120,000 young people across four cities in fundraising and awareness campaigns to fight modern slavery.
- To date, the 24 Hour Race has raised over HKD 8,000,000 to impact the trajectory of slavery and exploitation in Asia.
- The 24 Hour Race has High School events in four countries: Hong Kong (2010), Singapore (2011), Kuala Lumpur (2014) and Seoul (2016), and will expand to six in 2018
- The 24 Hour Race has supported the work of 12 NGOs that work in the field, reaching over 5,000 victims of slavery.
- In 2016, over 2,200 students from Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Seoul ran in our events, raising over HKD 1.7 million and reaching 100,000 + young people in our social media advocacy campaigns.
- In 2017, over 2,500 students from Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur aim to raise USD 100,000 to fund "Operation 24". The Seoul race will take place in mid-2018.
